A graduate from Ecole Polytechnique and Mines ParisTech, François Grosse started at Gaz de France, first in R&D then at executive level as a national project manager for developing natural gas vehicles.In 1993 he joined ONYX (today Veolia Propreté) in Nantes, France, holding operational positions till 2000, when he became a regional director in Lyon, a position he kept till February 2007. By 2004 he also took charge as a regional delegate for Veolia Environnement, coordinating the whole business in the area. From 2007 to 2009 he worked in Hamburg, Germany, as an executive manager for industrial services and recycling. Back in Paris in Aug. 2009, he's been working on post-crisis strategies as a counselor for Denis Gasquet, Veolia Environnement's executive director. Veolia Propreté, one of Veolia's four subdivisions (waste, water, transports, energy), is the world's no. 2 company in waste management and environmental services.
